I'm Anna, and Neloura started at the changing table — not in a lab.
When my son was a newborn, every diaper change felt like I was doing something wrong. I was afraid to rub too hard and cause irritation, but wet wipes never felt gentle enough. And I kept reading that to prevent rash, the skin needed to be fully dry before putting the diaper back on — and even then, you were supposed to add a separate barrier cream on top. It was a lot to manage, especially at 3 a.m.
I kept complaining to my husband until one day he came home and mentioned something a colleague from Europe had told him — that in Europe, parents don't use wet wipes at all. I stopped and said: wait, what?
That sent us down a rabbit hole. We learned that the European approach to diaper changes centres on oil-based cleansing — gentler, more effective, and no need to rub, wait, or layer products. We couldn't understand why that wasn't standard here.
